Help after an accident with a MAN TGX truck. MAN drove into a ditch
near Lyon, France.

We were contacted by an AWHelp24 member from Belarus. The problem was,
that for more than a year a Belarusian insurance company refused to
pay compensation of 3 500 euros for the evacuation and repair of a MAN
TGX truck after an accident near Lyon, France.

The insurance company demanded a police certificate. The client had
been unable to obtain one in France for over a year and wasn't sure
what to do when he called us. We tell you how we helped.

How it happened. A year ago, our client's driver lost control of his
vehicle at a junction west of Lyon and drove off the road. Police
forces came to the scene. However, as there were no casualties, they
moved on immediately.

The truck was evacuated to a nearby petrol station and repaired there.
But the insurance company did not reimburse the accident damage.

The customer, a member of the international haulage assistance club
AWHelp24, called us and asked for help.

Our manager from France called the police. The police station database
contained information about the accident and the manager was connected
to the police officer who had been at the scene of the accident a year
earlier.

The police officer remembered the incident but refused to issue a road
accident certificate. According to French laws, the police do not
record the accident if there are no victims. However, the fact of the
accident was recorded by the traffic authority. And the police officer
told us which organisation to contact.
