We brought a Mercedes OM501 engine from Marburg to our Autowelt GmbH workshop in 97618 Niederlauer for repairs. First, we mounted the OM501 on our engine stand and carried out an inspection to find out, what was causing the malfunctions. Two spark plugs were defective, the turbocharger was unusable and the injection nozzle was clogged. After we ordered original replacement parts, we swapped the broken components, readjusted the valves, checked the engine readings and found, that the engine power and the exhaust gas temperature were back in the normal range. We installed the engine back in the Actros, took it for a test drive and handed it back to the customer.
