A DAF XF in Hamburg suffered from a defective gearbox and needed an overhaul. We towed the truck to our workshop in 97618 Niederlauer, disassembled the transmission into its individual parts and examined what needed to be replaced. The main cause for the malfunctions were the clutch and a broken flywheel, so after their new, original replacement parts arrived, we began with the overhaul. First we removed the defective components of the clutch and the old flywheel from the gearbox housing, installed their replacements and bolted the housing back on the gearbox. Once we reconnected the TCM, we filled up the transmission fluid and put the now repaired gearbox back into the DAF. After relearning the transmission, we carried out a test drive and returned the truck back to its owner. The whole process took us three days in total.
